parks

when i was in the park in berlin, i thought about the parks in australia, and when i was in the parks of perth or sydney i thought about the parks of berlin, not always, but often. and then sometimes when i was either in the parks of perth, sydney or berlin i didn’t think about any of these parks, i didn’t think about the parks of perth, sydney or berlin, i thought about no parks at all, i rather just lay in one of those parks be it perth, berlin or sydney and thought of nothing, i just lay there looking at the trees and the grass and the people that were there, whether it was perth or manchester or london, sydney, budapest or santa clara or berlin. but if i was in a park in montpellier i may be thinking about looking around while i was in the park in berlin or melbourne or vice versa or another park i had been in recently, say in brighton or stockholm or cincinnati.

of course each park is unique in fauna, flora, aspect, lakes, ponds, streams, bridges, pergolas, bars, cafes, outdoor cinemas, fountains, promenades, topiary, mazes, lawn type, galleries, outdoor chess boards, petanque fields, bbqs, observation towers, native sections, toilet blocks, kids play areas, table tennis and so forth, so to be thinking of one park while being in another was often a very different experience, and perhaps of little value, and yet some parks could be said to be similar to each other like woodlupine brook reserve in perth and hasenheide in berlin for instance. it wouldn’t surprise me if the same landscape architect was not involved in the planning of those two great parks of the world, but i don’t know this for sure, it just comes to mind because i was thinking of those parks while sitting in a park in potsdam, with a palace and an orange orchard nearby and a pan pipe band standing in a circle playing songs from latin america.

Here people play table tennis in the inner Berlin park, Hasenheide. I know these people, they are friends of mine. I was thinking of playing chess in L'Esplanade in Montpellier, France when I took this shot.

My GF takes a snap of an old shed in SanSouci park in Bornstedt, Potsdam. I was thinking about snapping a goal as a kid at Mills Park in Kenwick here.

I am thinking about playing table tennis in Hasenheide in Berlin while being snapped here at Mundaring Weir Nature Reserve in Perth. Is a nature reserve a park?
